Description
Positive Crankcase Ventilation (PCV) in English, this is a system which recycles the gases present in the crankcase and thus prevents them from being released directly into the atmosphere.
These gases come from engine oil and combustion gases which escape in small quantities between pistons and cylinders. The extraction is variable and is controlled by the PCV valve. The gases are then routed to the intake manifold to be burned there.
It is well known that on 2.0L TFSI EA113 engines, the PCV valve has a membrane which is very fragile and often tears, especially on reprogrammed vehicles.
